Is this a good setup for building my first computer?
Motherboard - Commando Republic of Gamers Series LGA775 ATX Intel Processor Motherboard
CPU - Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Processor
PSU- ZM600HP 600 W Modular Power Supply
HDD- 500 GB Barracuda 7200.11 SATA-300 Internal Hard Drive
Ram - 4 GB ( 2 x 2 GB ) Memory Module Kit - Reaper HPC Edition
Video card - GeForce 8500GT 512 MB GDDR2 PCI-E Graphics Card
Case - Nine Hundred ATX Tower - Black
I'm now going with the GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB DDR3 PCI-E Graphics Card. I plan on keeping the ram because it's cheaper than buying 3GBs. Will this matter? Any other suggestions?
Like we explain on here every other day, You aren't going to be able to use all 4gb UNLESS you use a 64-bit OS. (either XP or Vista). There aren't any programs that really well use that much (3gb is fine). Yes RAM is so cheap now days that you can buy plenty of it. So either get 3gb at faster speeds, or I would ditch that 8500 Graphic card and get at least the 8800 gt (at least, but better would be the new 8800 gts 512 mbs). everything else looks fine from what I can see (even though there isn't much detail here).
