Common Reasons Why Your Computer Wont Start
Finding out that your computer won't start when you have work to do on it can be very upsetting and annoying. Maybe you are already thinking about all those important files you are about to lose. You may not have backed up your hard drive and all your precious photos could be stored on it. Here are a few possible reasons why your computer won't start.
- Have a look at the brightness button on your monitor. Some people accidentally turn this all the way down so that when you start up the computer seems to be broken when in fact it is just the screen has been made dark.
- It is a good idea to check whether there is any sound coming from the disk drive and have a look to see if you can see any of the display lights on the computer tower or on the keyboard. If you do not hear or see anything then the likely problem is something to do with the power source. If you are using a surge-protector socket you will to check if this has been triggered. You will also want to check the fuse in your plug. You could also find that a power outage is to blame.
- Sometimes the start switch is located on the keyboard. That is why it is important to make sure that your keyboard is still connected to the computer tower.
- Sometimes a CD can cause a problem with a computer starting up so you need to make sure that there is not one sitting inside the CD-ROM. If this is a cause you will usually see a message on the screen saying "non-system disk error". And if you are met with a message like this, the thing to do is to take out the disk and then restart the computer.
Remember that if none of these are the reasons why your computer won't start, that there are experts out there who can help to repair your computer or at the very least, get your documents back.
As more and more homes today are becoming more computer orientated, many people often find they need some sort of assistance with problems that may arise, such as printer help. But these are only a few of the issues and things like network problems can also be a major issue. PC security is also a major concern for many.
