Special Stage: White Cyc
Difference between Traditional and Projection Cyclorama: A White Cyc is special stage background or backdrop that encloses or encircles the majority of the stage so special visible effects can be used for various film media, or live action on the stage. The color white is used for the cyclorama because it can be voided out or replaced with a virtual background.
The White Cyc has two main functions : 1 ) As a masking tool to stop the audience from seeing into the back stage area. Generally the back wall is hidden from view. It offers a stunning effective and appropriate background for the production. The white surfaced cyc today is still being use as a full-stage fabric, and remains in a well stock theater's inventory. Two ) offers a surface for simple illumination to create or enhance the scene's mood, and when the white surfaced cyc is illuminate is a standard background for : dance, opera, and drama. Now there are two types or styles of White Cyc backgrounds a Traditional, and Projection Cyclorama. Standard white surfaced cyc : what is the custom white surfaced cyc made with? The white cyclorama is made of the standard cotton or types of materials like muslin with a semi-opaque textile surface. The standard White Cyc has many challenges that the user has to deal with to have a successful visual effect. These challenges of the tradition white cyc are :
One ) The Simi-Opaque fabric with all new lighting technology still has Problems with lighting the front surface causing reflections to appear with hard edges and scallops causing issues with certain visual background effects like the semblance of sky on the stage. For smooth lighting of custom white cyc requires regular spacing and coloration. The lighting must be projected on the front of the white cyc to prevent the audience from seeing the source of lighting. 2 ) Care must be brought to keep the cyclorama free from dust since it's tough to clean. Three ) If the cyclorama has been in storage it must be hung up and steam for a time period to remove wrinkles.
Projection white cyc ( Procyc ) : The projection cyclorama still supplies the required masking task. This is the only feature it has in common with the normal cyclorama. Difference between the projection cyclorama and the standard cyclorama is the advantages of the projection cyclorama.
The projection cyclorama material is a see-through medium that diffuses light thru it like dyes in water. This prohibits hard lines and scallops from occurring when illuminate. The projection cyclorama can be illuminated directly from the front, the rear, or both front and rear at the same time. Light fixtures can be place in front of the projection cyclorama without out showing the audience the light source. This is a gigantic difference between the projection cyclorama and the normal cyclorama. Difference between the two cycloramas ; the projection cyclorama allows for an incredible assortment of sky drops or backgrounds.
Will a yellow edible ink marker be visible on brown fondant?
I'm making a brown fondant-ed cake and need to put gold letters on it. To avoid having to brush on the letters with gold luster/vodka mixture, could I instead use a yellow edible food marker and then roughly paint on white/translucent dust on top of those letters?
ok it depends on the darkness of the cake, I'm thinking like chocolate dark. if it's that dark I would think not. But maybe if you used yellow icing, and then painted it with the dust. With my expirience with food color markers they only show up on lighter backgrounds.
But it really depend on the colors of everything, visual aid would be helpful
